W Motors' Fenyr SuperSport has 900 horsepower, but that's 'entry level' in Dubai

In just three years, Dubai-based supercar company W Motors has managed to develop and debut two supercars: the Lykan HyperSport and the new Fenyr SuperSport. Since "super" comes before "hyper" in the sports car prefix dictionary, that makes the Fenyr the entry-level W Motors machine.

Despite its elementary position in the brand's lineup, the Fenyr SuperSport's twin-turbo 4.0-liter flat six-cylinder engine still packs a wallop -- a 900-horsepower wallop, to be exact (for comparison's sake, the Mazda3 makes 155 horsepower). The Fenyr is nearly six times as powerful.

To that end, the Fenyr can do a 0-to-62 mph sprint in 2.7 seconds on the way to its 248 mph top speed. It might be the more accessible W Motors car, but it's no slouch.

Given the crazy shape of its carbon fiber body, lightweight aluminum chassis and immense power output, what exactly makes this car "entry level"? Its big brother, the $3.4 million Lykan Hypersport, boasts creature comforts like diamond-incrusted headlights and a holographic display.

The Fenyr SuperSport has neither of those. By those standards, the Fenyr is a virtual plebeian mobile.

W Motors plans to build 25 Fenyr SuperSports each year -- far more than the seven Lykan HyperSports the company churns out each year. Considering that, it's essentially the Toyota Camry of Dubai-based supercar companies.

If you're wondering about pricing, the Fenyr SuperSport starts at $1.85 million. Considering its shape, performance and lineage, the asking price is a virtual pittance.
