Wacken Open Air, the biggest festival of its kind, has attracted metalheads for 25 years. Created in 1990, the small, 1,800-person village of Wacken has opened its fields to metal bands and fans worldwide. Over 30% of festival attendees travel to Wacken from other countries, according to Blabbermouth.net, a website dedicated to heavy-metal music.
Less than 36 hours after the 2014 festival ended, Wacken's website announced that all the tickets for its 2015 festival had already sold out.
Can’t keep metalheads from the metal, man.
