Walk off the Earth wants you to know that it's okay to be yourself.

In the latest video for the band's new song "Alright," premiering here on Mashable, the group sends an inspiring message about self-acceptance and empowerment.

Aimed particularly at trans youth, the video stars a young girl named Ellie who wants to build up the courage to be herself in public. As it turns out, 8-year-old Ellie is actually a friend of the band named Sarah Blackwood, Ryan Marshall and Gianni Nicassio tell Mashable via email.

"She’s incredibly talented as a dancer and wonderful as a person," they say. "We admire her and we’re so proud of her."

Though anyone going through hard times can relate to "Alright," the band says, meeting Ellie inspired the video treatment. Marshall and Nicassio wanted to tackle prejudice with this video, saying it's "something we don't think should even be an issue."

"We want to be a part of a positive movement towards acceptance and love of all humans," they say.

"We also hope people know that this video wasn’t made for us to get on our soapbox and preach," they add. "Nor did we make this video because we believe we’re experts or spokespeople. This is really just about showcasing a really amazing person and hoping that her story resonates with people the same way it did with us."
