DIY Project Turns Washing Machines Into Armchairs

While studying at the Industrial Design department in Bezalel Academy For Arts and Design in Jerusalem, industrial designer Tony Grigorian (Antonina) has created a series called "I Used To Be A Washing Machine," which features a manual that guides people through building chairs from a completely disassembled washing machine. The resulting designs are almost unrecognizable as former household appliances.

The series includes step-by-step DIY instructions that enable people to make chairs like the one pictured below. Once disassembled, parts from an old machine can be used to create an innovative and unique piece of furniture for the home.
