The Washington Post has acquired CourseAdvisor, which is a lead generator specifically for the education industry. The financial details and terms of the acquisition were not revealed.

Matching students with degree and certificate programs from 800 institutions, CourseAdvisor has already taken a $12 million round of funding last year from ABS Capital. The Washington Post participated in this round. As The Washington Post also owns Kaplan, the educational prep service, there's a chance that CourseAdvisor could become further integrated tool with Kaplan's programs. Kaplan is already among those institutions listed as a potential for match using CourseAdvisor's search wizard.

In other Washington Post news, the company will be holding live talks with presidential candidates online.
