Mitt Romney may have labled electric carmaker Tesla Motors a “loser” during the first U.S. presidential debate, but it certainly is a winner in this instance.
Automobile Magazine put the speed of the Tesla Model S to the test, pitting it against the BMW M5 in a drag race.

While it may appear that the Tesla's driver put his pedal to the metal a moment earlier than his competitor did, the BMW quickly fell behind and was unable to catch up.
So much for the old belief that electric cars are not very fast.
