Eight Republican presidential candidates are scheduled to face off in a debate at the Reagan Library at 8 p.m. ET.
For the first time, newcomer to the race Texas Gov. Rick Perry will join the debates. Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty will be absent, having dropped from running for the GOP nomination last month.
Tonight's debate will include former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, businessman Herman Cain and former U.S. Ambassador Jon Huntsman.
