California-based We Love Widgets is another new service that's plugging in to MySpace. Their first offering is a horoscope widget that updates itself with content from theAstrologer.com. They've done a good job: it's nicely designed and you don't even need to cut and paste any code - you can instantly add it to MySpace by entering your MySpace username and password (this is a feature that we're seeing more regularly). They're doing well to focus on MySpace, but We Love Widgets are also promoting use on hi5, Xanga, Piczo, Friendster, Multiply, Windows Live Spaces and other networks.

However, it's pretty clear that the team are geeks rather than MySpacers - the term "widgets" is almost never used on MySpace. Instead, users refer to them as "MySpace codes". I also notice Digg and del.icio.us buttons on their site - more signs of geekdom. This is probably a good thing: until now, many MySpace layouts and "codes" have been created by entrepreneurial teens. As a result, the quality isn't always great.
