The Weather Channel Interactive has acquired Weather Bonk, a weather mashup of sorts that includes Google Maps combined with current conditions, forecasts from various providers, and webcams from selected locations. The company also operates Ski Bonk, a weather site geared towards skiers with special features like snow depth. Finally, Weather Bonk also owns Golf Bonk, a golf course directory integrated with Google Maps that appears to not have weather data at this time. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The deal is the first acquisition for The Weather Channel Interactive, whose main business is operating weather.com. The company is apparently actively looking for additional acquisitions.
