Weather Channel Interactive's recent wave of acquisitions and announcements continues through a partnership with MySpace. The agreement will result in a weather section powered by weather.com, accessible via both the MySpace homepage and each individual network page.

The new weather section - available here - provides traditional 5-day forecasts, national/regional maps, recent weather headlines, and also weather related video content. Users will also be able to track weather for up to five locations of friends and family members. Other perks of the partnership include access to the Weather Channel's Forecast Earth, which provides lifestyle and climate information.

Branding weather.com and related services through a social networking platform like MySpace is a logical progression for Weather Channel Interactive. Recent acquisitions like WeatherBonk, lakerentals.com and coastrentals.com will enjoy more exposure through the new MySpace feature than if they existed solely as stand alone sites.
