Every bride and groom are the stars of their own wedding day, but some couples take it to new, dramatic heights.

Local Sydney politician, Salim Mehajer, married his fiancée Saturday in a lavish ceremony that enraged local residents with its helicopters, motorbike cavalcade and drums, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. Before the pair tied the knot, however, they made a video to tell the world their love story.

In the short film, Mehajer has his life "turned upside down" when he meets the woman of his dreams in a classic university meet-cute. From there, it only gets more sensational. Mehajer dons a white knit sweater, shoots a gun for some unknown reason, argues with his parents, drives an orange sports car to climactic music, and finally, proposes in front of the Sydney Opera House.
