LONDON -- eBay: the home of old furniture, unwanted Christmas gifts and cat turds.

It's a well known fact that you can buy almost anything on the world's biggest online auction, something that has spurred at-home-comedians and strange people worldwide to list anything and everything on the site. In the process, they've been getting bidders to flex their itchy fingers. At least, some of the time.

After someone listed 100% genuine Glastonbury mud this week, we took a look back at some of the strangest things that have turned up on eBay over the years.

1. Empty sauce packet

Exactly what it says on the tin. Or packet. This empty sauce packet of what looks to have been brown sauce is currently listed on eBay with a starting price of £0.99 and no bids.

2. Loom band thong (unisex, in case you were wondering)

Ah, loom bands, that well loved past-time of tween girls and 20-something men who like to make thongs. Yes, that's right, thongs. This multicoloured 'loomkini' was handcrafted and re-listed on the auction site for £30 having initially been removed for being too rude.

3. Unassembled snowman

In the midst of a bout of snow, one Rotherham resident took it upon themselves to ensure their winter wonderland could be shared all across the globe. The 'unassembled 6ft. snowman' was available, as advertised, for collection only and reached suspicious bidding heights of £10 million.

4. Jesus Christ

Son of God, one third of the Holy Trinity, eBay listing. Yours for the small price of £0.50.

5. Absolutely nothing

"ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for sale, zero, zilch, nada" read this item's listing. The price for absolutely nothing, we hear you ask? One whole dollar.

6. Unwanted Brussels sprouts

Herefordshire's Dan Allam has kept the Christmas spirit alive not once, but twice by auctioning off the uneaten sprouts from his holiday roast and donating all money to the Make A Wish Foundation, raising £99.99 and £34 respectively. An unusual gesture.

7. World's Best Lasagna Recipe

We're not quite sure if this actually is the world's best lasagna recipe, but all signs point to legitimacy (they don't). The 'brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item' is being sold on eBay for a tiny £0.99, with bidders receiving their copy of the coveted recipe only after the seller gets payment and positive feedback. Hmmm.
