Wetpaint Launches Free Private Wikis, YouTube Search

Wiki provider Wetpaint will announce the launch today of free private wikis: these invite-only wikis let you collaborate and share information, music, videos, calendars, files and other media. They're targeting clubs, families and class projects, they say. You can set a wiki to private by going to the “Who can view your Wetpaint Wiki?” option at signup. Existing public wikis can also be set to private.

Wetpaint is also adding a YouTube Video and Yahoo Images search (shown in screenshot): this makes it super easy to search and add images and videos to wikis without leaving to find embed codes. Seattle-based Wetpaint is claiming 450,000 user-created wikis since its launch in June 2006 (although obviously a lot could have been abandoned).
