Breaking up is hard to do, but a new startup seeks to make the painful process of divorce a little easier.

Wevorce has brought in about $1.7 million dollars, according to a filing from the company. VentureBeat found the filing, which details the company's fundraising efforts.

[seealso slug=http://sale-online.click/2013/12/16/startups-to-watch-in-2014/%5D%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWevorce takes much of the divorce process online, particularly the paperwork. Couples work with a "Wevorce Architect," which is a "single-attorney mediator" that guides the process. The service costs a flat fee that is presented upfront.

"We'll cover the financial, emotional and legal basics, and also those details that are often the hardest to untangle. You’ll come out with the necessary legal documents as well as a lifetime of tools, knowledge and agreements as you begin again," the company touts on its website.

The company's fundraising is not over, according to the filing, as it seeks another $1.3 million.

Wevorce declined to comment on the fundraising round.

The price of a divorce varies depending on a variety of factors, but general estimates of the average cost come in around $15,000. The high cost has led to the emergence of a new "collaborative model" of divorce, which is similar to what Wevorce provides.
