Today leaders of both the WGA-West and WGA-East blocs of the American writers guild voted unanimously for a deal brought to light Saturday, reports Staci D. Kramer of PaidContent.org. The details of the agreement are many. A summary assembled by our own Sean P. Aune can be viewed here.

Furthermore, the WGA, after having approved the draft of the deal today, has set the so-call “strike-ending” vote for Tuesday. If the vote is to grant the deal final passage (complete ratification would take an estimated 10 days), as some are expecting, many of the writers of the union can look to get back to work as early as Wednesday.

As we documented Saturday, after receiving word of today’s scheduled vote, the agreement essentially offers writers better-than-DVD flat-rate fees and percentage-based royalties, which was the basic goal set by the WGA for Web video streams and downloads.
