The fifth annual White House Science Fair took place Monday, with the nation's top aspiring scientists showing their short life's work to President Obama himself.
In the part inspirational, part depressing video above you'll see firsthand how much these young people, most of whom are not yet in college, have already accomplished. There's Sahil Doshi, a 14-year-old, who created a battery that is powered by carbon-dioxide, the main gas driving manmade climate change. The battery, called "PolluCell" turns carbon dioxide and waste materials into electricity. This achievement earned him $25,000 at the 2014 Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge.
In an interview with Mashable late last week, before the Science Fair, Doshi said he decided to think big while also making something small. “I decided to take on two big projects, which are climate change and energy access in developing countries,” he said, adding that he will use the prize money for his future education.
