WhoDoes is for Project Managers

GotThingsDone, a company that has created collaboration tools and other web-based applications, has just launched WhoDoes, a project management service.

WhoDoes circles around task management, the delegation of tasks, and the record-keeping for a project's actions. Similar to Basecamp, you have a clear division of labor between admin, project managers, and users. WhoDoes has iCal integration for exporting tasks to your calendar of choice. File retention is also included in the WhoDoes application, though there doesn't seem to be any file history to track document's revisions or associated users.

Time tracking and payment options have also smartly been integrated into this service, allowing for projects to be initiated within an existing team or company structure, as well as to contractors or freelancers. A mini feed-like system called the repository will track every action that's occurred within a particular project, allowing all participating users to stay abreast of a project's progress.

For free, you can get two projects with 5Mb of storage, an no iCal integration. Plans start at $5.99 per month or $59.00 per year, and go upwards of $480 per year depending on your personal requirements for project management tools. ActionThis is another newcomer on the task management scene, while Huddle has just celebrated its half-birthday.
