Whoopi Goldberg is staunchly defending Bill Cosby in the wake of a 2005 deposition where the comedian admitted to giving at least one woman a sedative and purchasing quaaludes to give to women he wanted to have sex with.
The actress shared her thoughts on The View, telling viewers to "save your texts, save your nasty comments -- I don't care." Goldberg, who has defended Cosby throughout a maelstrom of sexual assault allegations from dozens of women, said he is "innocent until proven guilty."
"He has not been proven a rapist," she said.

The rest of the View co-hosts also weighed in on whether or not the 2005 deposition changed their view of the Cosby situation. Raven-Symoné mostly stayed out of the discussion, saying Cosby is "the reason I'm on this panel in the first place," later adding, "You need the proof and then I’ll be able to give my judgment here or there. Now that there are more facts, more people can come up."
Co-host Nicolle Wallace said the entire situation was still "unknowable" to her, while co-hosts Michelle Collins and Candace Cameron-Bure largely condemned Cosby's actions.
"If you're giving drugs to anyone to have sex, you're impairing their judgement...to me, it just says guilty, guilty, guilty," Cameron-Bure said.
