Widevine Offers DRM for Flash Videos

Widevine, a content security solutions company, will announce today that its Cypher service now supports Adobe Flash video formats.

Widevine provides copyright protection for some of media's biggest networks, helping combat piracy of video content. With their service now supporting Flash video, the protection they can offer to content owners expands greatly, and affects both video hosting sites as well as those looking for more ways to protect their content. While this is important for the larger companies within the media industry, this is important for independent content owners as well. Most video sharing sites utilize Flash, so incorporating protection for Flash formated videos only makes sense.
