Will Smith thinks the Hollywood community needs to lead in a time of regression and separatism in the U.S.

The star appeared on the The Graham Norton Show, where he was asked where he stands now on his decision to join wife Jada Pinkett Smith in boycotting the Oscars ceremony because no actors of colour were nominated for awards.

“I felt very seriously that there is a regression in America in general towards separatism and racial and religious exclusion, so for me, it’s more about putting my hand up and reminding my community, the Hollywood community, that we have to lead," he said.
