In case MySpace Music weren't enough, now there's MySpace Karaoke. Powered by kSolo, a company Fox acquired some time ago, this new section of MySpace lets you make recordings of your own versions of your favorite songs, which can then be shared with friends. Got a microphone on your computer? Great. Choose the songs you want to sing along with, and you're good to go.
With licensing deals already in place for the songs available on MySpace Karaoke, there aren't any copyright issues to worry about. However, you're maxed out at 10 songs, so make sure the ones you post to your profile are good recordings.
It's interesting to see which applications these social networks decide to launch as integral parts of their larger communities, but in all honesty, MySpace Karaoke seems quite fitting. It can even span the globe as a standard application to launch amongst the localized MySpace portals that are cropping up around the world.
