Windows 10, Microsoft's highly-anticipated upgrade, both looks ahead and harks back to the good old days.

The system includes revamped versions of older features, like a redesigned Start menu that includes your most-used apps and PC settings, along with a set of customizable live tiles for your apps.

The upgrade is also equipped with a suite of new features, including Cortana, Microsoft's personal assistant feature that can help manage your schedule and answer queries -- even the silly ones. Windows 10 marks the debut of Edge, Microsoft's first new web browser in 20 years. Though it doesn't have any extension support (yet), it's speedy, useful, and comes with handy features like the ability to highlight and annotate web pages.

If you have convertible PC that doubles as a tablet, you can use Continuum to easily switch to tablet mode for a more touch-friendly experience.

Bonus: you can stream games from your Xbox One right to your PC.
