The new Windows Live Hotmail is releasing some new features over the next few weeks.

Most importantly, there's more storage. From 4GB of space for mail, you'll now get 5 GB if you're using the service for free, and 10GB of space has been granted to paying customers. An improvement on performance has been included, tweaking the parts of Hotmail that were slower than others. There's also been an increase on the amount of time messages are left in the spam and deleted items folders. Another important feature is the "contacts de-duplication" which in proper English means that the several entries you have in your address book for the same person can now be avoided in the future, as an alert will let you know that there's already an entry for the person you're adding. You also have the option of cleaning up the duplicate contacts you already have.
