If you've got a Windows Live website, you can now invite your users to display their online presence. If your users would like to enable this feature, the option is displayed on the signup page, which directs to the Windows Live Messenger settings page.

[img src="" caption="" credit="" alt=""]The majority of IM tools, such as AIM and Meebo, already have similar options for displaying your status and availability to chat. Even mobile services like Jaiku have included it in their micro-blogging platforms, so it seems that Microsoft is a little late to the dance again. But for those that would like to extend this offering to its users, this online status capability is a nice little feature that will help spur instant communication between users.
