If you purchased a Windows Phone last year, then you might continue seeing updates to the handsets for a little bit longer.

A leaked Nokia slide references “Windows Phone 7.x, “ which is set to arrive after the Windows Phone 7.8 refresh. Obtained by Phone Arena by an anonymous tipster, the slide doesn’t provide any information on what the update may include.

When Microsoft announced Windows Phone 8 earlier this year, it also announced Windows Phone 7.8, an update for Windows Phone 7 handsets that brings the updated home screen to the phones.

Due to hardware limitations, no Windows Phone 7 handsets can be updated to Windows Phone 8.

Windows Phone 7 only supported medium-sized tiles on the home screen. Windows Phone 8, however, supports three different tile sizes, allowing users to more heavily customize their phones to meet personal needs.

Do you have a Windows Phone 7 handset? What Windows Phone 8 features would you like to see featured on older smartphones?
