Over the past week, we've seen some pretty hefty claims from new contenders in the smart home category. However, none are louder or more intriguing than tech startup Robot Butler Inc.

Their flagship product, a fully autonomous robot created to aid users with day-to-day activities throughout the home, has been the focus of a week-long campaign. Thought leaders in various industries have chimed in to sing its praises, but through the noise, a few questionable reviews have shown a different side to Robot Butler. The company’s own Twitter page seems to mirror this. All week, they've been putting out fires affecting those in its initial beta program. Software issues, safety concerns and overall violations of privacy all seem to plague the new device, leading many to rethink their stance on the idea of a robot roaming their home.

While Robot Butler still has some kinks to work out, there's a simpler, more effective solution already available. Wink is exactly like a Robot Butler -- just way less awkward. With its mobile app, you can control your home at the touch of a button from anywhere in the world. Wink can operate your smart garage door opener, manage intelligent switches and outlets, monitor connected security cameras, schedule your synced sprinkler system, even if all those products are made by different brands. If you want it done, Wink can handle it.
