The U.S. Coast Guard continued to scour the waters of the Yucatan Channel for a woman who fell overboard from an EDM cruise ship bound for Cozumel, Mexico late Thursday, according to authorities.

The woman was identified as 24-year-old Kaylyn Rose Sommer of Charleston, South Carolina by the U.S. Coast Guard Friday morning. Sommer has a young daughter and married her husband on the Mad Decent Boat Party last year, NBC Miami reported.

Sommer reportedly fell overboard from the deck of the Norwegian Pearl while the ship was roughly 22 nautical miles from the coast of Cuba just after 7 p.m. EST.

The ship's three rescue boats were deployed, while search and rescue teams from the Coast Guard's 7th District in Miami were searching for the woman in the water and by air, with Cuban authorities reportedly also helping in the search Friday. It's unclear how many people were aboard the cruise ship, but at capacity it can hold about 2,400 people.

Norwegian Cruise Lines confirmed late Thursday that the woman had "intentionally" gone overboard in a statement sent to pressplay.

The Mad Decent label is owned by DJ Diplo, and the festival's lineup included the artist along with Major Lazer, Skrillex, A-Trak and other popular artists. The on-board Wi-Fi was reportedly pay-per-minute. However one passenger @zethussuen tweeted updates throughout the evening.

Music sets were cancelled and passengers ordered back to their rooms and accounted for, while the ship's crew updated passengers with broadcast announcements every 15 to 30 minutes, zethussuen tweeted.

Many Twitter users, including EDM artist Knife Party, were criticized for insensitive tweets about the situation. Knife Party later deleted their tweets which read: "Don't* Abandon Ship" and "Too soon? Too soon."

Other EDM artists, some aboard the cruise ship, denounced the inappropriate social media reactions.
