Less than two days after director Michelle MacLaren left Wonder Woman, Warner Bros' has lassoed up a new director to take the helm.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Patty Jenkins, who famously was set to become the first female director to oversee a Marvel film with Thor 2 before she left the project, has signed on to direct Wonder Woman.

She will now be the first female to direct in the DC comics' movie universe.

Jenkins, who was among Mashable's top picks to replace MacLaren, is best known for directing 2003's Monster, for which Charlize Theron won an Academy Award.

She also -- much like MacLaren -- has plenty of experience in the TV world, having directed episodes of Arrested Development and The Killing.

Wonder Woman is slated to be released in 2017 with Gal Gadot set to star as the iconic hero.
