Suicide Squad's new trailer wasn't the only Tuesday night surprise from DC Films. We also got our very first look at Gal Gadot beating up some German soldiers -- not Nazis -- in Wonder Woman, which is coming in 2017.

DC Comics' Geoff Johns introduced the footage with noted comic book geek Kevin Smith during Tuesday's DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League special on The CW. With no trailers yet released and only a handful of promo photos, this is the most detailed look we've gotten at Wonder Woman so far.

Gadot says that fans can expect to see Wonder Woman's "coming of age, the entire history, what's her mission" in the film. The particulars of the story are still wrapped in mystery, but it seems that Diana Prince (you don't really think people just call her "Wonder Woman," right?) bails on her people, the Amazons, to go forth and protect humankind. That's what the Amazons were created to do, though most of them don't think we're worth saving.

They might be right about that.
