The Wonder Years fans will finally have the chance to see Kevin Arnold's signature New York Jets jacket up close. The pop culture artifact and more memorabilia from the show will find a new home at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.
Members of the cast, including Fred Savage and Jason Hervey, were on hand at a special donation ceremony held at the museum on Tuesday. Other donated items include wardrobe pieces worn by the main cast that are representative of the 1960s, scripts and other ephemera. These key pieces will join the museum's permanent entertainment collections.
The Wonder Years, which originally aired on ABC between 1988 and 1993, followed young Kevin Arnold growing up in suburban America in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The show won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series in 1988 after only six episodes had aired.
Though the show has been available for streaming on Netflix since 2011, the entire series, complete with original music, was released on DVD for the first time earlier this year.
