Open source blogging software Wordpress is getting a new dot release next Monday, 24th September. The release comes with the must have feature addition - Tagging and Tag clouds. From the blog publisher/owner perspective this means much easier access to adding tags to their posts that would result in better categorization without using the actual categories feature of Wordpress.
Till date most of the bloggers have been depending on wordpress plugins like Ultimate Tag Warrior, which can be a pain to install and use if you are not technically inclined or running short on time.
However the new tagging support will require modifications to the theme and maybe also support from the blog publishing tools like Live Writer(review).
Other features getting added and upgraded include plugin and core update notification, faster JavaScript, and SEO-friendly URL redirection.
