The average cell phone bill for a working mom is $94, which is 21% higher than that of the average mobile user. Additionally, working moms are 42% more likely to download content to their phone than the average cell phone user.

The "working mom" demographic was defined as women who have full-time jobs and at least one child in the household. The report (warning: PDF link), from Scarborough Research, also delves into consumer patterns and marketing opportunities for working moms, who may be more receptive to mobile marketing than most.

Although the agenda here is clearly about targeting the demographic for mobile marketing, the results of the study are potentially an interesting challenge to our assumptions about mobile usage and technology adoption in this country. In another part of the report, working moms are described as more likely than other consumers to have high-tech items in the home and to be the driving force behind upgrading that technology.
