LONDON – Following their spectacular performance at the World Cup, the England women's football squad spent Thursday making a victory lap round London, taking in Kensington Palace, Number 10 and Wimbledon, sharing their exploits on Twitter along the way.
The team returned from Canada following a 1-0 win against Germany last Sunday, which gained them third place in the overall tournament.
They began their day with a royally deserved appointment: Breakfast with the Duke of Cambridge, and FA president, Prince William.
Goalkeeper Karen Bardsley was the first of the team to take to social media, sharing a sneaky selfie of herself and teammates with Will in the background.

Then Karen Carney posted this update on Prince George’s football allegiances.
I just found out Prince George may support Birmingham City to annoy his dad @KensingtonRoyal and not Villa #buzzing pic.twitter.com/FOSDLbS2NK— Karen Carney (@karenjcarney) July 9, 2015
Kensington Palace, meanwhile, shared some photos from the breakfast and the FA skills programme with local school children that followed.

And if meeting the Duke and sharing their wisdom wasn’t enough, the team then headed to Downing Street for a chat with the Prime Minister before continuing on for some R&R at Wimbledon, as tweeted by Steph Houghton, Eniola Aluko, Casey Stoney and Jo Potter.
