Everyone might not know your name at this bar, but cocktail fans around the world certainly know the bar's name -- or will soon.

The Dead Rabbit, an Irish pub in Manhattan's Financial District, was named the World's Best Bar at the 9th annual Spirited Awards -- which is kind of like the Oscars for watering holes.

The bar has been showered with accolades since opening its doors in February 2013. It won World's Best Cocktail Menu in 2013 and 2015, Best American Cocktail Bar in 2014, and World’s Best New Cocktail Bar in 2013.

The Spirited Awards, which took place in New Orleans on July 18, have never given a World's Best Bar award before. They have, however, named the World’s Best Cocktail Bar -- the most recent winners were The Artesian at the Langham in London in 2014, the Drink bar in Boston in 2013, and The Connaught Bar in London in 2012.

To win the title of best bar internationally, a bar must meet the highest of standards and influences cocktail trends. The award takes into account the menu, the bar teams, the bar's atmosphere and cocktail quality.

“They definitely keep an eye on what your bar is doing, the noise that you’re making and everything you’re doing to progress and advance the bar,” Jack McGarry, The Dead Rabbit’s cofounder and operating partner, and who was named International Bartender of the Year in 2013, told The Daily Beast. "The drinks have to be cutting-edge. Your staff and bar have to be world-class."

McGarry said that he and his co-founder Sean Muldoon moved to New York from Belfast on a mission to create the world's best bar, and that the awards show that their five years of hard work have paid off.
