LONDON — Christmas just isn’t Christmas unless you’ve consumed your body weight in mince pies. But, the world’s oldest Cornish pasty bakery has just turned Christmas on its head by creating the ultimate festive baked good: the very first mincemeat and custard pasty.

Warrens Bakery in Cornwall has been busy developing a way to bring a contemporary twist to Britain’s crown jewel, the Cornish pasty.

“We have made the pasty using rough puff pastry, filled it with specially selected mincemeat and a vanilla custard and have crimped it in the same way we would a savoury pasty,” says Warrens Bakery master baker Jason Jobling.

“It’s glazed and topped with a cinnamon and sugar blend for extra crunch.”

Sounds delicious, right? You can get your hands on one from 15th November at stores throughout the South West of England.

Better hop on the next train to Cornwall, stat!
