Owner Sharon Voorhees told ABC News that the cat "spent her last days laying either on the deck or down in the yard." Tiffany Two died peacefully in her sleep at home in San Diego, California.
Voorhees bought Tiffany Two for $10 in 1988, when she was only six weeks old. She was named after Voorhees' first cat, Tiffany, who died in the 1970s.
Tiffany Two proved her resilience when she turned up on Voorhees' doorstep after getting lost for more than two years, San Diego Union-Tribute reports.
“We were immediately reunited and spent the next 14-plus years together," Voorhees told San Diego Union-Tribune. "There is a deep attachment from an animal. Nobody can ever tell me that animals don’t have feelings. I know better!”
Guinness World Records has not currently found a successor for Tiffany Two's title. A woman in Sweden claims to own a 29-year-old cat that was already older than Tiffany Two, but that number has not been confirmed.
