Meet Anna Maria Lane, a.k.a. the only documented female soldier of the American Revolution, a.k.a. the American Mulan.

Anna Maria is almost completely forgotten by the history books, even though she dressed in the same uniform and fought alongside other brave soldiers (under the command of George Washington, no less). So she's basically the Disney's Mulan of the Revolutionary War.

Mashable's new animated series, "WTF History," explores all the WTF moments from history that you probably didn't learn in books -- unless you're big nerds like us.

Not only will we bring you inspiring stories line Anna Maria's, we'll also bring you tidbits like naked Ben Franklin. Promise.
