We've covered Wuala on launch, noticing the application's complexity when compared to other online storage solutions and some minor problems with the Java engine powering the application. Its main features are encryption, the ability to divide files to private and public, 1GB of free storage, and P2P sharing capabilities.
Now, the company has announced the release of a Web API, which lets third party developers create applications for Wuala.
Furthermore, and perhaps more importantly for end users, Wuala now also has a web interface, which means that users can make selected files available on the web via simple web links, such as this one: http://www.wuala.com/Dominik/Photos/Switzerland/Mountains As you can see, there's no need to sign up or log in to receive the file in the link.
