Tiscali will announce today that it has chosen wunderLOOP, the ad company backed by Skype founders Niklas Zennstrom, Klaus Hommels and Howard Hartenbaum, to provide a targeted ad solution for its website.
Tiscali is among the largest broadband providers in the UK, reaching about 1.5 million customers. Its online component has a rather large reach as well, with about 7 million unique visitors a month.
It's one of the first big deals for wunderLOOP, a company that's taking a slightly new approach to online advertising, incorporating overall demographics as well as specific site and user behavior. The hope is to extend the wunderloop model to even more media platforms, including Internet TV (a market the Skype founders are currently dominating with Joost).
