Director Bryan Singer shared a cryptic piece of production art from his upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse film through Instagram on Monday.

The film, which is set to hit theaters in May 2016, is said to be the final installment in a trilogy that started with X-Men: First Class and continued with X-Men: Days of Future Past. James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are all signed on to reprise their starring roles from the past two films, with Oscar Isaac playing the villain Apocalypse.

Singer offered no explanation as to what the art portrays, but Comicbook.com speculates that it most likely shows an enormous starship called Ship, which plays a major role in Apocalypse's origin story.

The director has released a stream of behind-the-scene shots of the movie production on his Instagram. The art is by Grant Major, who worked on all three Lord of the Rings films.
