With huge names like Kevin Spacey and Tom Hanks diving into digital-first distribution deals for their original content, it would seem the entertainment industry is on the cusp of a revolution.

At the same time, smartphones, tablets and connected TVs are enabling people to consume video content in more places than ever before, and the numbers are starting to show that they’re doing just that. In fact, it’s estimated that Netflix consumes nearly one-third of all Internet bandwidth.

Meanwhile, developing premium content for these devices has become a key component of Yahoo’s turnaround strategy. Earlier this month at CES, the company announced that Hanks’s animated web series “Electric City” would air exclusively on their properties.

During the event, we had a chance to catch up with Ken Fuchs, Yahoo’s VP Entertainment, who is leading the Internet giant’s entertainment, sports and gaming initiatives. We talked about how the creation, distribution and marketing of entertainment is changing, as well as the business models around it. Check out the video above to see our discussion.
