'Yahoo HR' Twitter Parody Mocks Marissa Mayer's Leadership

New Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer caused quite the stir last Friday when she decided to eliminate the option for employees to work from home.

While some applauded the surprising decision as a bold move that should help Yahoo get back on track, many commenters criticized it harshly. In a digital age where many employees can theoretically get work done anywhere -- provided they have Internet access -- Mayer's edict struck some as over-the-top and even a bit draconian.

Yahoo recently addressed the controversy, but it's already spawned at least one Twitter parody that makes fun of Mayer's new hardline image.

Simply called "Yahoo! HR," the account sends out mock human-resources notices to imaginary Yahoo employees. Micromanagement, strict edicts and a generally over-serious attitude are key themes. To whit:

Beginning on Friday, we're asking all employees to refer to our CEO, Marissa Mayer, as "Your Grace."— Yahoo! HR (@_YahooHR) February 27, 2013

Yahoo! believes in a culture of hard work and focus. Please, keep the smiling to a minimum.— Yahoo! HR (@_YahooHR) February 27, 2013

Lincoln once said, "Be sure you put your feet in the right place, then stand firm." Please remove the wheels from your desk chairs by 3pm.— Yahoo! HR (@_YahooHR) February 27, 2013

The account hasn't exactly gone viral, though; at the time of writing, it's picked up just 44 followers since launching early Wednesday morning.
