Most of the large companies have been pushing a portal setup for their mobile initiatives, namely for integrated mobile advertising and in hopes of getting users to stay within their extended networks. This portal model is fading on the web, so I've been curious as to its success rate on the mobile end of things. Given the navigational limitations of the mobile web, I find the portal setup to be helpful about half of the time.

Yahoo onePlace will feature bookmarking tools so that an individual's regularly visited links can be accessible from a centralized location. Items can then be personalized by organizing them into collections, such as "Summer Vacation" and "Shopping." Items can also be organized by category, and there are also options for receiving RSS updates according to your desired subscriptions.
