Yahoo's New Security Features and Other News You Need to Know

Welcome to this morning's edition of "First To Know," a series in which we keep you in the know on what's happening in the digital world.

Today, we're looking at three particularly interesting stories. Oxford Dictionaries came to a conclusion on the word of the year: "selfie." The virual currency Bitcoin reached an all-time high of $900 before leveling out around $650. Yahoo will roll out 2048-bit SSL encryption to Yahoo Mail users by early January, making it much more secure, and the company says it plans to extend that protection to all its products.
