Yahoo is revamping its video site as a response to YouTube's growing service. The changes will reflect its goals of bringing its spread-out video content into a more centralized location, and the changes are set to be finished by the end of the year.

So what does Yahoo have in store? More content. Music videos, film trailers, tv shows and sports highlights will be made available on Yahoo's centralized video site. It's biggest change may be the inclusion of video uploads and sharing options on Flickr. The goal is to put video just about everywhere, combining its portal presence with video distribution. Growing its user base is another central goal for Yahoo as well. One way Yahoo has recently moved towards these goals is the launching of Fantasy Sports with its Digital Home offering.

Leveraging its existing acquisitions, including Flickr, del.icio.us and Jumpcut, Yahoo has the network to become more competitive in the online video space. Its power lies in its use as a portal, its ability to reach a very large number of people, and its existing networks. The company also has standing deals with several traditional media companies in both music, film and sports industries, meaning that content distribution deals shouldn't be too hard to come by.

What level of integration Yahoo has planned for this network, though, has always been a lingering question when it comes to Yahoo. Of course, many are still saying that Yahoo needs to build up its acquisitions even further, which could potentially move the company more towards this end goal of beating YouTube.
