Sports fan network and blogging hub Yardbarker has closed a $6 million Series B round of financing, led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, with existing investors Russ Sieglman, Ronnie Lott (via SC Investments Consulting), Jarl Mohn, Labrador Ventures, Baseline Ventures, and others. As part of the funding, Josh Stein, a Managing Director at DFJ, will be joining Yardbarker's Board of Directors.

Yardbarker received funding about a year ago, and simultaneously relaunched its site (see coverage here), revealing additional custom features in order to appeal to more sports fans and those users passionate enough to regularly consume or create relevant content. The result has been a year of growth, which has included some spotlight celebrity athlete bloggers like Donovan McNabb, and a host of big-name advertisers, like vitaminwater and Sony PlayStation.
