Yelp just added a new recommendation feature last week that's similar to Amazon, letting you see other items that users have viewed that have also viewed the item you're looking at.
As helpful as this new feature is, Yelp's latest release could be just as handy. Rating details are now available for users, so you can see the history of user ratings in graphical form.
There are bar graphs and histograms available for you to see, which shows their ratings over time, and the distribution of their ratings. This is a good way to expand on the fact that ratings go into the authority of every user on Yelp, and shows things like consistency, improvement. This offers more dimension to a simple, static rating that appears to be a current representation of a user, but is in fact the cumulative existence of that user since they joined the site.
