We recently wrote about 5 Ways to Share Images on Twitter and 5 Great Ways to Share Videos on Twitter, but today Yfrog is making the jump between the two: the image-sharing service is adding support for videos.

Yfrog's new video service supports all video file types and is currently available onsite via upload, or using our favorite Mac Twitter app, Tweetie. [Ed: corrected from previous version which stated videos could be posted from Tweetie for iPhone - they are viewable here but can only be posted from Tweetie's Mac version]

Yfrog's big advantage over some of the other guys is that they're using the ImageShack platform, a proven image hosting provider. They also make it a point to use the H.264 codec to provide high quality video playback both on the web and on iPhones connected to 3G or WiFi networks.

As mentioned above, one of the bigger wins for Yfrog is that Tweetie, the most popular mobile app for Twitter (according to Twitstat), is now a believer. Starting today, you can use Tweetie to post videos from your Mac to Twitter. You can also watch Yfrog vids without ever leaving Tweetie. That's pretty cool.

Now that Yfrog's in the video business, it looks like we're probably going to see and hear more from them in the future. Now if only we could make sense of their silly name.
