Not a lot about the yo-yo itself has changed over the decades, but its tricks have become a thousand times more complicated. Ever heard of Buddha's Revenge? The Brain Buster? What about the Mach 5, the Spaghetti, the Zipper, the World Tour, the 3-Leaf Clover or the Double Gerbil? Yeah, we didn't think so.
Yo-yoing has been around for years. It first gained popularity in the early 1920s and has since reserved a space in our hearts. There's just something magical and mystical about making a yo-yo spin and flip like crazy.
But it's the typical "looks easier than it actually is" sort of thing. We can't prove it but we think the ability to yo-yo is more akin to your innate ability to roll your tongue than to a learned skill like typing.
So, when people do all kinds of crazy things with the yo-yo, it is particularly impressive. Watch these experts do their thing and let us know if you think it's more of an innate skill or something simply learned with practice.
