Although there's still no resolution to the all-important "Who is more gay: Turkey or Greece?" debate that started the whole debacle, Turkey has nonetheless lifted its YouTube ban today, with the offending videos seemingly removed.

Turkish communications company Turk Telekom said it had been notified of a court decision to lift the ban, which was the result of a flame war between Turkish and Greek users on the site. There were videos posted claiming that the founding father of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, was gay - that kind of criticism is illegal in Turkey. Those who insult Ataturk are said to be "insulting Turkishness", which is a punishable crime.
